People think Sales People are the only one that should sell. Unknown to the many people everyone is involved in the game called selling. Wether we know it or not we live our everyday lives by selling. It may not  be a product or a service; it may be an idea, a philosophy, a style, tangible or intangible. Also people don’t know that if nothing gets sold nothing gets done. Selling is the engine room of any enterprise. The strength of any enterprise is in its ability to sell, because that what defines success for a business. Don’t just learn how to produce to the best quality but also learn out to sell successfully.
People should be able to feel your passion — Your enthusiasm and positive spirit are absolutely essential to selling. Whether you are selling to customers, selling your business concept to potential investors or trying to borrow money from your local bank, don’t minimize the excitement of your passion for your business and your absolute belief in its success.

Each Wal-Mart store should reflect the values of its customers and support the vision they hold for their community.

In Business, Character is far more important than your Skills,Service and Product Quality, Brand Equity and any other thing in Business. Character is the blood that a business runs on not Capital. Many Entrepreneurs make mistakes of putting forward every other thing except their Character.

It has been proven that people around you including customers can perceive the reasons why you are in business and they can tell what your character is. There are people around us that had built conglomerates over years but destroyed them due to lack of character. The truth is that a brand is not successful because of its logo and colour. The strength of a brand is in it perception by the people. No matter your Brand Strategy you cannot successfully sell a poison except people don’t know  it is the one.

What do you promise as an Entrepreneur? Integrity is powerful when it comes to business. We believe in business that  you have not made a sales except the person you sell to returns the second , the third time, keeps coming back and still tell people  in his circle of influence. A research has shown that if you treat a customer well he will tell 3, if you don’t he will tell 3,000.

This is where Values come in as an Entrepreneur and a Business Entity. The good thing is that values can be reviewed. What are your top 10 values as an Entrepreneur?

What has Character got to do with your success as an Entrepreneur? Your Character is a Capital that you have got in your business. The only capital if I may say. What people perceived to be your character will greatly influence them in their decisions to do anything with you and your business. The decision may be as trivial as  buying from you or being your supplier. It may also be a great decision as putting money in your business or partnering with you. Whatever the decision is it is greatly influenced by your own character.

Your character will also influence the character of your staff. It has been proven that the way employers treat employees determines how employees treat customers. Treat people well in your business, don’t use people for your selfish reasons. Be true to your promises. Pay people what is due and do it on time. Your character also affects how loyal and committed your people are.

Lastly, Corporate governance has been an issue in recent times in our society. As you start on the journey to Entrepreneurship, put structure and system in place that support Best Practices and Due Diligence. Imbibe Values that encourage Integrity,Transparency, Peace, Service Excellence etc. This singular issue of character can catapult your business faster than any other principle in Business. It also provides a solid foundation for your business. A business without character is a house without a foundation. Remember Character is your Capital and your Brand Essence
