5 Steps To Writing A Powerful Affirmation Statement

We process an average of 60,000 thoughts daily, 30% of these thoughts are general every day, survival and recurrent thoughts but 75% of the rest of our thought are negative, limiting and disempowering thoughts.

Too many of us go about our days with these negative, limiting and disempowering thoughts bouncing around in our heads.

Unfortunately, when we think like this, our mood, confidence, and outlook on life can become negative as well.

The problems with negative thoughts are they end up becoming self-fulfilling prophecies. We end up talking ourselves into believing we aren’t good enough, which ultimately results in our personal lives nose diving.

To create the life of our dreams, we must therefore Intentionally use positive and empowering thoughts instead.

Here are 5 steps to writing powerful affirmation statements.

1. Think About What You Want to Change

We all have something in our lives that we would like to change.

For example;

Many of us wish we could be more patient.

Others will like to be more productive at work.

Think for a moment and consider several areas of your life and behavioural traits that you would like to change or improve and write them down.

Are they each in alignment with your core values, dominant beliefs and the things that are really important to you?

This will keep you consistently motivated and driven to deliver your dream life.

2. Make Sure Your Affirmations Are Realistic and Achievable

Your affirmation must be based on a realistic assessment of the facts in your life and environment. You need to stay realistic because affirmations aren’t magic spells. If you can’t believe that you will achieve what you are affirming, then it is highly unlikely to happen or make a difference in your life.

3. Turn Your Negatives Thoughts And Beliefs Into Positives

If you struggle with negative self-talk like we all do sometimes, then you should take some time out to reflect and write down these persistent thoughts and beliefs that you need to change. After you have written this then create the direct positive opposite of that thought and belief.

For example; If you always think “ I am not good enough, so I may not add value”, turn it around and write an affirmation like, “I am very intelligent and I add great value everywhere I go.”

4. Write Your Affirmation in the Present Tense

For your affirmation to be effective, you have to write it in the present tense, as if it is already happening to you. Writing in the present tense helps your subconscious to believe that the statement is true.

5. Use Your Emotion

When your affirmations are backed by some emotional energy, it carries more weight, and power and is much more effective.

Your passion and emotions have a lot to do with helping you bring your desires into manifestation. For example, if you are concerned about how a new project will pan out, you can repeat to yourself, “I am very excited to take on this new challenge.”

Repeating positive affirmations regularly can help you overcome negative thoughts and help you manifest all your desires. Follow these five simple steps, and you’ll have powerful statements that you can use daily.

To your success!

Shalom
